homonym hilarity

Even when Dave's relatives speak to me in English, I sometimes get confused. For example, as we were pulling into the parking lot of this restaurant, Dave's auntie kept telling us that it was famous for "pick food."

I got excited thinking that it was the kind of seafood restaurant where you pick your meal from the tanks of live animals, and they carry them back to the kitchen and cook them for you. But it wasn't famous for "pick food" – it was famous for PIG FOOT!

Mmmm, pork trotters. I was not to be disappointed for long, though. I just had to wait another 24 hours to eat at the kind of "pick food" restaurant I had been dreaming of. We picked giant langoustines, clams, and what looked like a parrot fish!

He was wrong.

Check out the teeth on this one!
