Kenting

We had an amazing time at the southern tip of Taiwan, in Kenting. The view from our hotel room was pretty ridiculous. You can see why it's a honeymoon hotspot:


But there was a lot more to see besides the beach. There's a large national park with lots of cool areas to visit.

This lighthouse used to be on the seashore, but the area has silted up so much that it would seem kinda cruel to turn it on.

The dunes along the shore reminded me a little bit of Michigan!

Interesting weathering patterns on sandstone

I think this is my favorite beach I've visited in recent memory. The water was warm and relaxing, the sand was soft. And notice how there's no one else there! Ahh, Asia, where everyone flees the sun except us barbarian Americans.
